The brief for the Hardy Street Eatery was to create a clean minimal modern backdrop for chef and owner James Rutherford to serve his contemporary seasonal plates. The main challenge was to house the cooking and service area in a way that visually connects with the dining area while providing some subtle screening. This central multifunctional object became a space divider as well as a display for James’s extensive library of cookbooks.
Most importantly, the food is delicious.
